Introducing a Sprinkling of Fairy Dust!

If you haven't already noticed from recent blog posts there has been a level of frustration  and really with some of the things going on in our lives I have been too often getting upset and feeling like things are just so unfair. Dealing with Luke's problems is becoming increasingly more difficult. We are dealing with more and more people who are overworked and who generally just don't have time to care. Over the last few months my frustration became 'what can I do to change this?' Paul and I had many many conversations about what could I do and all I knew was that I wanted to bring more love into our own lives and to others, I wanted to remind people about love and happiness and that we can care for each other, it is simple.
Even strangers can share a moment of love.
It doesn't have to be big it only has to feel like a little fairy dust sprinkled on your day.
It is time and I have to do something about it, from my heart in my own little way.

Say a big happy warm HELLO to A sprinkling of Fairy Dust!

I am going to be releasing between 100 and  200 (4 to 6 a week) of these packs between now and the end of the year.
For the first month I will be focusing on leaving these little packs around Adelaide.

I am really excited about this little bit of love that I am going to be leaving around the place. And am even more excited that someone might find these and check in here and let us know if it bought them a smile or made their day a little brighter.
Each pack will have its own word relating to love so that we can track each pack- a word is far more personal and meaningful than a number.
I will post a photo of each pack here throughout the week and if you find one feel free to either leave a comment or email me and let me know about your find!!
I will be setting my first packs free tomorrow when we are out and about

Next month I would love this little project to travel a little further so leave a comment if you would love to be a fairy too.

Christmas around here.

There have been pressies wrapped and decorated
In red and blue, wish I would have come across some pink polka dot patty pans then they would go with my tree but they are sweet anyway.
There have been more ornaments stitched up. A few have been sold at Blakes school Pasaar.
There have also been some tags made
I am almost finished all of my wrapping, I am trying to take my time and make them look pretty.
Ahh I love this time of year.

Today I Made

We now have owls floating around the house. I am making some kits for Blake to sell at the Indonesian Pasar he is having at his school next week, like there isn't enough going on at this time of year!
Again I did look at the Fa la la la Christmas Felt book but didn't use the template etc. I have kept it simple so little ones can sew these up.

Today I made ! Christmas Ornaments

I am enjoying making some little babushka doll Christmas ornaments.
I think they are cute :) They are a mixture of  ideas from the fa la la la Christmas felt book and my babushka measuring cups. I am off to make some pink ones for my tree ;)

Christmas Ornament #2

AHHHH where have i been????? At the end of last week there was a whole lot of cleaning going on over here and not much to tell. At the beginning of this week Luke has been the complete focus- appointments with an OT and physio and Kindy with a one on one support person. But I did manage to sew this on Monday! I am starting to feel like I am taking some small steps to be on the way to being organized for Christmas!

This was a combination of ideas from the fa la la la Christmas felt book again.

Finally all done!

Luke's Quilt was finally finished the night before his birthday- I was so tired! I am happy with how it turned out and I kinda wish I had one of my own....but that's not gonna happen for a while as I will be focusing on sewing some handmade gifts for Christmas now.
He is still adjusting to the new Maggie, we all said goodbye to the old Maggie but she really only went in the wash then she will go in the back of the cupboard somewhere, I'm not quite ready to throw her out just yet.
Hopefully I will be back again tonight to catch up with what we've been up to today.

Today I made....a gingerbread house

Today has been a strange day here, Daylight Savings began here so we are all out of whack.Paul goes back to work tomorrow and I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad. I did manage to sew up a little gingerbread ornament that will be a small gift, may be put with teachers gifts. Its quite cute and comes from the fa la la la Christmas felt book.

I am totally ready for lots of crafting but I think a bit of a clean up is in order- we will see what wins out tomorrow :)

On My Table- for fathers day

Over on the blog 'Make it and Love it' earlier this year I saw this cute pot with a sewn tie on the front and a cute flag, I knew that I had to make it when fathers day rolled around.
Blake decided that he wanted to get Daddy a new lunch sack  because Daddy has been using Blake's old Kindy lunch sack and Blake thinks that Luke needs it now :) There were also some handmade gifts, Luke even made something for Daddy- the first time he has made a gift, too cute!!
Mummy cooked a nice breakfast and now we are going outside to do some gardening (Paul choose gardening over hiking today) and plant some rainbow beets and purple carrots!
Hope your having a great fathers day too :)

Meet....

Mr Bicycle Bunny. Look what I whipped up for Easter, I know its a little early but usually I leave my ideas until its far too late and they never happen so this time I'm getting a hop on it! He may be looking for a new home very soon. He would make a nice little Easter gift for a young boy don't you think........He loves to go on special adventures. And he loves to get carrot stuck between his teeth- watch out veggie crisper here comes bicycle bunny!
And he even loves to feel the wind in his ears. When he rides this fast its makes his teeth chatter - very dangerous indeed! He may be for sale......

On the Second Crafty Day.....

Do you have some card stock, a Christmas stamp and some kitchen string lying around your house. I bet you do! Yesterday I whipped up some Chrissy tags for gifts and they were so simple to make, saved me money (since i already had everything i needed in my craft stash) and they match the colours that i am doing this year.
Check it out I'm doing PINK and silver this year!!!! I'm not sure if i mentioned it here but when Paul was on holidays I painted the nook in our living room a pink colour and now I have put the Chrissy tree in front of the nook it looks sooooo pretty. Don't worry though I had SO many Christmas decorations that were gold and red with a bit of green and blue that Paul went a bought another tree (since trees are so cheap these days) that has gone in our bay window for passing cars to see- so he still got his traditional tree and I got to have a tree in the bay window, just like i always wanted. Anyway.......I also wrapped the very first pressie :)
I have written names and a note on the back of the tags. Love them!

The First Crafty Day of Christmas

I made some lipstick holders for Blake's kindy teachers :)
I did try to make these in a box kinda shape, it just got far too fiddly. I also considered sewing up some fabric but I think that may have been a bit tricky with how little these lippy holders are.
Felt was the way to go! These were super simple to make they really are just a tube of felt sewn with blanket stitch at the front a circle on the bottom and a flap that comes over the top. They have a little Velcro on the inside to hold the flap down.I did consider adding a piece of ribbon so they would be easy to find when they are floating around in your bag but i wasn't quite sure where to put it.
There is going to be a few more of these made, I have some family that would like them.
Once I have made a few I think Ill choose the best ones to give to kindy teachers... some button buying might be in order for today :)
